Mr. Cory Davon Joyner (affectionally known as CJ) was welcomed into God’s loving embrace on Sunday, July 9, 2023 in Columbus, Georgia. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. EST. at Greater Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 12th Ave. Columbus, Georgia, with the Reverend Dr. Marcus J. Gibson officiating.
CJ was born on February 8, 1978 to the parentage of Mr. Connie Ray Joyner and the late Mrs. Alice M. Joyner Thompson. He was a graduate of Spencer High School in Columbus, Georgia. CJ was the owner and operator of Your Creative Works, LLC and Monsta Fam Music Group, LLC.
Left to cherish his memories are his beloved soulmate Victoria; loving children Camron, Courtney, Jayden, Davon, and Christian; caring father Connie Ray Joyner; devoted brother Craig Joyner (Rasheda); adoring nieces Kira and Kyra Joyner; supportive sister in Christ LaTonia Whitehurst; and dear god-daughter Deja Whitehurst.
CJ had an abundance of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. He will also be remembered dearly, by many members of his business family, childhood friends and loved ones from Indianhead Terrace, Spencer High School, and the Tri-City area.

On Wednesday morning the twenty-third of December, 2020 ~ God said, “You who live in the house by the side of the road, it is time to come home now; for you have done an excellent job and you have indeed been a friend to mankind.” Mr. Charlie Edward Matthews affectionately known as “Charles Langston/Charlie Fred” of Buena Vista, Georgia was called home to rest at the blessed age of 75 years old. Visitation will be held on January 1st, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A Graveside Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Cemetery (located on Oliver Street) in Buena Vista, Georgia. The processional will begin at 12:30 p.m. from the home of Mr. Matthews, located at 375 Langston Drive 6th Avenue Buena Vista, Georgia. The Reverend Tony Matthews is the Officiating Minister. The Professional Funeral Services are entrusted to Langston and Brown Funeral Home in Buena Vista, Georgia. Mr. Ervin Leon Douglas, age 65, of Buena Vista, GA, passed on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Mary Wood Lodge in Elmo, AL.
Funeral services for Mr. Douglas will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church Cemetery (Oliver St, Buena Vista, GA).
